Finally did some scrapbooking!!

I am taking an online class from Big Picture Classes and I finally had time to do a couple of layouts today. It was my first time using a spray mist. It looks better on the paper, since the photo didn't come out very well.

Merry Christmas

It's been a very rough month with my dad in the hospital and now moved to a nursing home. We are still very thankful for our many family blessing we've had this year. I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season and a happy new year! Here are some photos that Katie took playing with my camera, it is a technique called Bokeh.

This was the Day 1 tag of Tim Holtz. I made two versions using all of my own stash.

12 Days of Tags

This is tag number 3 from Tim Holtz 12 Days of Tags. Not sure why I started with this one, but I loved the words. I tried to emboss one, but didn't like the way it came out.
I love the idea of Elf on a Shelf, so I found one at Target today. Katie has been talking about the funny things that we can do with her, then make a mini album. Here she is, no name yet...... She decided to hang out in the mistletoe today. Stay tuned....

Happy Thanksgiving

We are so blessed to be spending this day in our beautiful home with a few family members. I miss the family who are not with us today, but wish you a Happy Thanksgiving. We all have so much to be thankful for.

Thanks Lisa for your wonderful stuffing recipe! Look, I do cook on special days! My favorite part of the day is drinking coffee and going through the mountains of ads! (Not that I'll be out early tomorrow morning.)

Happy Veteran's Day

Such a great day to be an American!! We woke up early and went to our local parade this morning. Allison was marching in the parade and Katie had a good friend from college with her. We had beautiful weather. Here's to you dad on Veteran's Day.

Back from Scrap Expo

I had such a great time with Jodi and her mom. We scrapped until midnight and took a lot of classes. My favorite class is always the Quick Quote class. Here are two layouts I finished this morning.

Here we are scrapping....

Here's the stuff I bought....

Back from Road Trip

We took a road trip to the wine country to visit Katie at college. She picked the perfect place for her to go to school as it is close and she loves it there! That part of California is so beautiful.

10 Things.....

Wow, I haven't scrapped in over a month, and it felt good!! CK had a one hour challenge to use the number 10 on a layout. This was the perfect chance to ask Katie what she feels after one month of college. She emailed me her answers and I got some of her photos off of Facebook, and voila,

Ott to Teach

I know this is my scrap blog, but lately I haven't had one bit of time to scrap, so I thought I'd share a few photos of my classroom. I am loving that I moved up to fourth grade and I have a great class once again. I have 30 kids, which is 4 less than I was supposed to have, so that is great. I saw this idea on Pinterest of course, but I modified it to be a bulletin board.

What a fun and easy project it was! Here is a photo of my classroom the first week. I've had to move them out of groups already because it was so noisy and they weren't all facing the board.

What did I do before these Post It charts?? I love them and the kids love that I keep them up and they can see what we did the day before. I am really loving Writer's Workshop this year!

Thanks to Pinterest....

I saw this idea on Pinterest, so I went to Lowe's to buy the organizer and made my own labels on Printmaster. I still want to cover the sides with something. Now on to label my smaller one.

Hope and I are hosting the Book of Me challenges on the CK message board. I did this for the Bucket List idea. I printed my bucket list from Pinterest, cut them up, and made the layout.

Happy Birthday Grandma, We miss you!!!

Do you believe it's the last day of July today?? Time flies when I have time off for the summer.
Today would have been grandma's 80th birthday, so happy birthday dear Mary Jo, we miss you dearly and think of you everyday!

This layout was done for Sketchy Thursdays sketch. Katie and her best friend had to wear ugly sweaters for a party and Katie asked me if I had any Christmas, teacher sweaters. Hey, I think that was an insult!!!

Thanks Amanda!

I'm learning how to put my own header on my blog thanks to a nice friend..... it's a little blurry, but it'll do for now. The hard part is sizing the photo so it fits. I've been scrapbooking a lot this week. Here's a few of the latest.

March Proud

I remember the first day of school when Allison came home crying because she hated marching band, but we made her stick with it for the week. Funny now that her dream is to go to a college with a huge marching band and she wants to go back to school just so she can start marching!! Funny girl!

Missing You Grandma....

This was a layout about last summer, but I realized it was grandma's last summer with the girls, so I just couldn't do the journaling. I used a Sketchy Thursday Challenge sketch.

Summer Layouts

I did these for the Sassy Lil' Sketches challenge this week. I really love this new Bazzill Two Scoops paper with patterns on it.

Who Knew??

I never knew you could alter popular signs online. What a cool idea. Here is my double page layout that I used my new trick. You can too! I love layouts with a lot of photos, and this one had fifteen photos.

Monochromatic... people do that?

This Big Picture Scrapping class is really stretching my creativity. I love color, so I don't really do one color pages. This was fun though since I had so many paint swatches sitting around, and wondering what I could use them for. Here's my take on this challenge:
